We have all worked very hard our entire lives to create our current situation. It has taken a lifetime of learning, filled with repetition, practice, conditioning, schooling, setbacks, successes, failures and self discipline to get to this very moment.
Whether we have created our life consciously and deliberately or whether we have let life happen to us, either way, life is of our own creating.
No matter the circumstances of how your life began or what you encountered in your life, you were designated a point in which to start. So from that point every thought, every action, every reaction, is a choice which is creating your life.
Let that sink in for a moment. Every choice has created your life.
So look around - what have you created?
Do you like what you see?
Does your life, make you ring like a bell or thud like a sack?
Now for those of us, who had a pretty unfortunate starting point in life - the good news is that you are also given a new start point every morning in which to start over.
Also, there is nothing in this life and I mean nothing, that cannot be undone, unlearnt, overcome, healed from or moved beyond if you want to.
So, look around yourself and see if there are any areas in your life that could use reinvention, areas that you'd like to improve, relationships that need work, more time carved out for fun, better health and well being, or like me, maybe you have a bucket list that keeps on growing but you never have time to get to. Well, now is the perfect time to do something about it.
In fact just reading this article is the sign that you need to act.
I can imagine what some of you are thinking - this can seem like a daunting or even overwhelming challenge and others will desperately want to stick their heads back under the sheets, because, yes, it does take time and yes, it does take effort to change patterns of thinking and ways of behaving.
However what I would like to leave you with is this -
The process of changing your life is surprisingly not as difficult as you think it will be.
It is a journey consisting of little choices every day - often resulting in outcomes years later that we never dreamt would be possible.
Any decision you make to improve your life, is a good decision.
